　　As one of the seven major meteor showers in the world, the mother comet of Orion meteor shower is the famous Halley’s comet, which is the first periodic comet confirmed by human beings, "gestating" the Aquarius Erta meteor shower in the first half of the year and the Orion meteor shower in the second half of the year.

　　Shi Zhicheng, a member of Chinese Astronomical Society and director of Tianjin Astronomical Society, said that the annual active period of Orion meteor shower covers almost the whole October, and its characteristics are very obvious, such as fast meteor speed, many bright meteors, white color and long peak flow duration, which make it more suitable for public observation. Although the meteor shower rarely occurs on a large scale, it is better than the steady flow and never disappoints, so it is still very worthy of attention.

For Chinese observers, the ideal observation time is from the early morning of 22nd to before dawn.
